In the Blind Girl’s Hands
When she presses a cotton ball
between her thumbs and fingers,
she tilts her head
a little to the left
as though listening closely
for additional information.
The therapist takes
the girl's hands in her own,
moves them back
and forth in short,
jerky pulls, explains:
"These are cobwebs for the
Haunted House." The girl moves
her hands among the filaments,
tilts her head a little more, asks:
"Is this what haunted feels like?"
